In 2009, LANL transferred its method for recycling Sr-82 to Jason Kitten’s newly formed company, Manhattan Isotope Technology, LLC (MIT). The recycling process is now faster and more efficient, and because clinical and hospital facilities can return the used product from PET imaging, MIT reduces waste while creating a valuable product.
